This why sticking to the classics is the way to go, in this case for example Charlie's suit, seems timeless while Ross' seem to be stuck to the era where it was cool but looks sloppy on hindsight.
I love Charlie Watts and Jazz. This great tune that they play could be straight out of a Charlie Parker album. Thank you, Mr. Watts, for keeping the great Charlie Parker’s legacy alive. Miss you both.🎶❤️🎶
I remember growing up in Essex and we used to be able to get Thames television, anglia and tvs. Had to adjust the indoor Aerial a bit lol Yorkshire tv always reminds me of staying with my aunty in the summers up in Doncaster lol
I think it was a bit of a myth that Charlie wished he was a jazz musician. You don't stick with a band for half a century if you don't enjoy playing music together.
I tear up when I watch these because when the (70s) idents first aired I saw them with family and friends that aren't with me anymore. So preserving these helps me remember my own.❤
I’m an American so now thanks to the internet, we can see these gems. I discovered a website devoted to TV idents from the UK several years ago and it also featured clocks. I love the HTV sounder at 1:54.
My giddy aunt that was absolutely amazing!! Thankyou so much for posting this!! Massive fan of stella street and its brilliant to see a young John full tilt! What a lad!! Rip Mr Sessions, you truley were a tallented man!xx
Well, the station ident for S4C (Sianel Pedwar Cymru which is Welsh for Channel Four Wales (C4W)) has a picture of a mountain, a sun & a river. Those 3 items are going to form the new S4C logo. The new S4C logo was in CGI (or commonly known as Computer-generated imagery) and designed by Peter Leonard. Also, S4C doesn't use the "WALES4CYMRU" logo & it's came out from May 2nd, 1987 to February 9th, 1995.
Clive looks at Victoria so lovingly. What an absolute gem she was--and her work is still funny, relevant, and in many cases (as here) foretells the future of TV.
Brilliant. Thanks for sharing these classics 😊
This is an excellent clip! The only behind the scenes video on this movie I've ever seen. Even the DVD has nothing. Thanks!
How charming!
love John
I see. 21 cups per event is the limit

I am a jazz fiend so I definitely have an affinity with Charlie. I wish that I could have seen him play Jazz in a small club. Sublime. RIP, Charlie.
Social history that should be preserved.
To paraphrase a popular tune... "Everyone loves a sharp dressed man..."
Whoever composed this really loved Beauty and the Beast
Aside from the BBC, were they all networks or just individual broadcast channels?
They were companies that had regional franchises.

Atv London's Sound Like Train Starting
People say Ernie Wise didn’t contribute much to the double act, but he invented this routine and many others, choreographed by Ernest Maxin.

An UTTERLY BRILLIANT MAN.
Not long after recovering from his own heroin addiction. His 'midlife crisis' he called it.
Happy 30th Birthday From BBC Two ❤️
Almost sounds like “The Death of the Beast” to me

See, comedians these days just don’t have these sorts of brilliant ideas. This really was a golden era for comedy
When the Inverviewee grasps for breath, is NOT then time for the Interviewer to bark another question !
A lovely man , kept solid time so the band could feel secure in doing their thing , greatly and sadly missed .
this film unavailable to stream or buy online. Sadly, as it's really good
What was the meaning of the shapes the logo turned from? They used them in idents and continuity at that time.

The wonderful voice of Redvers Kyle…the sound of my childhood 😀
“I’ve seen this show twice!”
Too scary. I can hear the creepy music. 7:41
all of their dance sketches were great because they actually were very good dancers
All in can here for Thames is "Here they are now. Morecambe and Wise"
what a perfect combination of intelligence and humour - Clive and Hugh
Ah back in 1989! When there were only 2 genders and no loonies telling us otherwise 😊
He's so young here and very adorable. I'm actually friends with him, and he's a very sweet and charming man.

Lmao this is not going to work for you if you’re an alcoholic, you just gotta stop
I never knew he was such an ass. He seems like such a lovely fellow.
He is still the best-loved stone of all and the greatest rock in the stones personna!
Brilliantly, staged, directed and choreographed...and most of all ...funny..
Wolling Stones, Wok and Woll, Chawee Watts? This guys under the impwesion? How the hell does this cat have a talk show? Out.

HTV was really clever the way it morphed into a TV aerial, and the Jingles were fantastic.
